Giving records are personal. Here's how Giving Steward protects them, whether you connect Planning Center or upload a CSV file.

Connecting Planning Center

You sign in with Planning Center

You connect through Planning Center's own sign-in page. We never see or store your Planning Center password, and you can disconnect at any time from Giving Steward or from Planning Center.

Connection keys are encrypted

The keys that let Giving Steward talk to Planning Center are encrypted before they're saved, and only our servers can use them. They never reach anyone's browser.

We read giving, and only write notes

Giving Steward reads people, gifts and recurring schedules. It never changes gifts, amounts or payment details. The only thing it adds to Planning Center is a pastoral note your team writes, labelled “from Giving Steward.”

Uploading a CSV file

Checked before anything is saved

Your file is read and checked first. You see how each column matches up and any problem rows before you confirm the import.

Sent over a secure connection

Uploads travel over an encrypted connection, the same kind banks use. Uploading the same file twice won't create duplicates.

No card or bank numbers needed

Giving Steward only needs names, contact details and gift history. Leave card numbers, bank details and passwords out of your file. We don't use them.

Always true, however you bring data in

  • Each church's data is kept separate. People can only see the church they belong to.
  • Your church admins decide who joins the team and what each person can do.
  • All traffic to and from Giving Steward is encrypted.
  • We never sell giver data or use it for advertising.
  • Families your team marks for pastoral care are kept off every outreach list.
  • A church can ask us to delete its data at any time.
